Ratatui HRV Support
Ratatui HRV is a wellness app that estimates HRV trends from an iPhone fingertip camera scan. It is not medical advice and is not for emergencies.
Measurement Tips
- Sit down and rest your arm.
- Cover both the rear camera and flash with one fingertip.
- Keep gentle pressure. Pressing too hard can weaken the pulse signal.
- Stay still and avoid talking until the 60-second scan finishes.
- Retake the scan if the app says quality is low or too few beats were retained.
Common Issues
Camera permission is off: Open iPhone Settings, find Ratatui HRV, and enable Camera access.
Apple Health says setup is unavailable: Apple Health saving is not included in the current test build. HRV readings still save locally inside the app.
The scan says Retake recommended: This usually means the camera was not fully covered, movement was too high, the signal was weak, or too few usable beat intervals were found.
The Watch has no latest reading: Open the iPhone app, save a reading, then open the Watch app again. The Watch displays synced iPhone readings; it does not measure HRV itself.
Data And Privacy
Readings are stored locally on the iPhone. Export and share create summary-only text. The app does not save camera photos, camera video, or raw color-frame values.
